Miles hopes to be ready for showdown

Tony Miles will practise on his damaged foot this week with the intent of lining up for Sunday's playoff showdown against the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The veteran wideout missed the team's season finale against Montreal after Miles was injured two weeks ago in a loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Earlier this season, Miles missed action after he tore a hamstring in Vancouver, but says his latest injury isn't as severe.

Getting Miles healthy looms as one of the keys for the offensively challenged Argos, who haven't had any consistency to their running or passing games for any stretch this season.

Combined with Arland Bruce III, Miles gives the Argos two bona fide playmakers at the receiving spot.

"I'll do what I have to do to play on Sunday,'' Miles said. "I'm going to practise one or two days to get ready."

Head coach Michael (Pinball)Clemons doesn't expect Miles to be completely healthy, but at this time of the year not many players are injury free.

There is uncertainty at quarterback with the Bombers who lost incumbent Kevin Glenn in the season finale against the Lions, but Clemons is convinced Glenn will play.

"We suspect he will play and we have to expect that he'll be 100%," Clemons said. "Guys who are hurt play above themselves in a games like this."
