Add toe injury to Williams' woes

MONTREAL -- You can add a damaged toe to the broken arm and bruised ego that have felled Ricky Williams.

The good news for Williams is the latest mishap won't have any impact on his long-term health, but short-term it serves to underline the hard-luck nature of the Argos.

On his way to the team's locker room following practice on Tuesday, Williams, who likes to go barefoot, accidentally stubbed his toe on a door.

Head athletic therapist Erin Brooks took care of the superficial cut and then recommended that Williams pay a visit to Dr. Anthony Galea, the team's head physician.

During yesterday's airing of TSN's Off the Record, co-owner David Cynamon suggested Williams' tangled toe would keep him out of the lineup for up to four weeks, a claim that appeared to be exaggerated.

Of course, Williams is out indefinitely after breaking his left forearm two weeks ago in Regina.

Williams was seen running 100-yard sprints on Tuesday wearing what appeared to be a soft cast.

He did not accompany the Argos to Montreal for their game against the Alouettes tonight.
