Super fan Mark Combot is in for some nail-biting today -- but first comes the party.

Combot, named in a contest as the Argo's best fan for 2005, will co-host a tailgate party outside the Rogers Centre, dubbed ArgoDome by fans, before today's CFL East final against the Montreal Alouettes.

The winner advances to next week's Grey Cup.

The party was put together by two of the Argos main fan websites, 13thman.com and argofans.com, which is run by Combot.

"It brings everyone together as CFL fans," said Combot, system administrator for argofans.com.

The party, which begins at 11 a.m. on the west side of the Bremner Ave. parking lot, could attract up to 500 fans.

The rivalry between Toronto and Montreal runs deep. They've met 10 times in post-season play, each with five victories.

Combot, 43, a long-time NHL fan, became hooked on the CFL only last year when he was left jilted by last season's hockey lockout.

He wasn't the only one.

There was a 71% increase in Argos attendance in 2004 from 2003, and this year saw a 17% increase.

"I was peeved with the NHL. Those guys are paid too much money. But these guys get paid peanuts. They just love the sport," said Combot, a season ticket-holder.

Combot supports the team in every way. His first real public display came during the Fritos Fandemonium challenge.

First, he wrote an essay on why he's the biggest fan and then he was required to perform at an Argos game.

He won tickets to next weekend's Grey Cup in Vancouver.
