- Argos cornerback Adrion Smith did a touching pre-taped interview for Gary White, who is battling cancer. White is a vice-president at TD Canada Trust where Smith's wife, Liana, works. Smith has dedicated his season to White.

- Winnipeg kicker Troy Westwood set a CFL record with his 551st consecutive converts in the first half.

- Winnipeg lost defensive back Cedric Dickerson with a broken wrist in the fourth quarter and cornerback Boyd Barrett with a pulled hamstring in the third.

- The officials ruled a five-yard catch by Winnipeg's Keith Stokes in the second quarter was complete even though replays showed the ball hit the ground. The officials then nailed the Argos for three consecutive penalties, including two on one play, that awarded Winnipeg 45 yards. The Bombers ended up scoring a touchdown on the series.

- John Avery fielded some kick returns for the first time as an Argo. He did it regularly with Edmonton in 2002.

- Argos linebacker Mike O'Shea rocked Winnipeg receiver Milt Stegall with a stop midway in the third.
