Argos coach Mike (Pinball) Clemons believes it is just a matter of time before quarterback Damon Allen signs on with the team for a few more seasons.

"I'm gonna lock him up in my basement until he does," said Clemons, about signing the Grey Cup champion MVP quarterback.

Owners David Cynamon and Howard Sokolowski have stated publicly a desire to re-sign Allen for next season but nothing has been finalized or discussed as of yet.

Yesterday, Clemons was at Howard Public School in High Park along with Premier Dalton McGuinty, education minister Gerard Kennedy and Argos linebacker Randy Srochenski encouraging students to read.

"Damon has a great desire to be back," Clemons said, "and he already considers himself back with the Argonauts."

He let slip that Damon is organizing workouts for players who reside in Canada during the off season.

Clemons shrugged off a recent website report that said he will earn close to $400,000 for his part in winning the 2004 Grey Cup.
