- In what safely could be described as a CFL first, an Alouettes medical staff member was flagged for objectionable conduct when he went on to the field to tend to an injured Kwame Cavil, only to engage in a shoving exchange with Argos defensive lineman Jonathon Brown and linebacker Michael O'Shea. The bizarre sequence cost the Argos 10 yards as the initial infraction involved Antonious Bonner being nabbed for a penalty.

- The Argos offensive linemen, spearheaded by Sandy Annunziata, received league permission to wear a patch to honour the memory of the eight family members who died in a tragic fire in Niagara Region earlier in the week. "I thought about that family a few times on the line of scrimmage," Jude St. John said.

- Argos rookie Jordan Younger was picked on all night at corner but he held his own and deflected away several passes.

- Argos defensive halfback Kenny Wheaton was forced to leave after he sustained a concussion. He says he will play in the Grey Cup.

- It was the Argos' first playoff win in Montreal since 1946.
