Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant has been fined an undisclosed amount by the Canadian Football League after taking his frustrations out on a fan via Twitter.

Durant replied to a tweet that criticized the 31-year-old, long-time Rider's play following Sunday’s 17-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes.

“Key to success,” Twitter user Christian Zuck wrote to Durant, “get you’re ass out (of) the pocket. You ain't (Anthony Calvillo)!!! Like at the beginning of the season!!”

Durant was 24-46 with a touchdown pass and three interceptions against the Als. The 2007 Grey Cup-winning QB was also sacked four times, leading to him lashing out in reply a day after the loss.

“Wasn’t running at the beginning of the season dumb f---,” Durant replied to Zuck on Twitter, paving the way for the CFL's decision.

In its ruling Wednesday, the league deemed Durant’s reply “inappropriate” and in violation of the its social media policy.
