Roughriders' Bagg sidelined
By QMI Agency

Saskatchewan Roughriders receiver Rob Bagg was put on the nine-game injured list Wednesday.

Bagg hurt his left knee during Saturday's win over the BB.C. Lions. He said Monday that he had tweaked his hamstring but more tests revealed that he likely tore his ACL.

"I guess the news is out," Bagg tweeted. "I am sorry I couldn't have done more for the Riders but we have a great team. Thank u ridernation 4 ur support."

Bagg, who declined to talk to the media Wednesday in Calgary, has torn ligaments in his right knee on two previous occasions -- during the 2010 season and prior to the 2011 training camp.

"It hurts," Riders quarterback Darian Durant told the Regina Leader-Post. "First and foremost, we've all seen how hard he has worked over the years. For him not to play with us is tough. It's a sad situation and I wish him a speedy recovery."

The 27-year-old from Kingston had nine catches for 69 yards this season.
