First quarter

The host Saskatchewan Roughriders put together a great opening drive, with QB Darian Durant hitting SB Andy Fantuz four times and moving the chains into the red zone.

After a pitch to RB Wes Cates, Stampeders DB Brandon Browner drilled Durant in the ribs to take a unnecessary roughness penalty.

Durant then hit SB Chris Getzlaf on a nine-yard TD pass to go up 7-0 with just under 10 minutes left in the quarter.

On the second Stamps possession, QB Henry Burris was trying to force a pass in to SB Nik Lewis, but it was picked off by Riders DB Lance Frazier.

Second quarter

The Riders put another long drive together, started by a 24-yard pass to WR Johnny Quinn, but the home side settled for a 37-yard Luca Congi field goal to make it 10-1. K Louie Sakoda boomed the kickoff for a single, making it 11-1.

After a quick two-and-out, Durant hooked up with Getzlaf on a 36-yard completion, then Durant found WR Rob Bagg alone in the endzone to make it 18-1 with eight minutes left.

That seemed to wake up the Stamps.

Burris scrambled to find Lewis open for a 23-yard gain, then hit WR Brett Ralph on a first-down gain and SB Jeremaine Copeland inside the five. Burris finished it off with a one-yard run to cut the deficit to 18-8.

The Riders got the ball with about a minute left, and Durant found Cates standing with two linemen for a quick swing pass that the former Stampeders running back turned into a 32-yard gain.

Congi kicked another 37-yard field goal to make it 21-8 at halftime.

Third quarter

After the Riders had a seven-play drive that resulted in a punt, the Stamps took the ball 70 yards to get a Sandro DeAngelis 22-yard field goal to make it 21-11.

The Stamps put their foot on the gas, executing the onside kick as DeAngelis dribbled it 10 yards and pounced on it.

Burris then hit WR Romby Bryant with a 27-yard gain to set up a 24-yard DeAngelis field goal and that cut the lead to 21-14.

Fourth quarter

The Stamps put together a long drive that chewed up clock but it didn't amount to much.

DB Tad Kornegay picked off a Burris pass, but it was called back on illegal contact on the receiver.

DeAngelis tried a 41-yard field goal, but it hit the upright, and the Stamps came away empty-handed.

Riders DE John Chick dropped Burris for a sack that put the Stamps on their own five-yard line.

A hail-mary bomb to Copeland fell incomplete and the Stamps conceded a safety to give the Riders a 23-14 lead with 2:43 to play.

After a failed onside kick attempt, the Riders took the ball and killed the clock as FB Chris Szarka broke a long run to get into range for his own one-yard TD run.

Notables

Stamps RB Joffrey Reynolds topped the 100-yard mark. It was Reynolds' 28th of his career and ninth this season, tying Earl Lunsford for most in team history ... Riders SB Chris Getzlaf had a TD, his fourth against the Stamps in three games this season ... The Stampeders scratched DL Tom Johnson, DL Juwan Simpson, OL Jon Gott and SB Jermaine Jackson.
