The flags were flying Friday night in Montreal and, ouch, it killed the Ottawa RedBlacks.

Sixteen penalties for 135 yards, many of them dagger-in-the-heart flags; some were deserved, some not so much. Unnecessary roughness, roughing the passer, illegal contact on a receiver, facemasking, illegal block, offside and illegal procedure.

"Once we did get things going, putting some drives together, we got penalties," said RedBlacks quarterback Henry Burris following a team workout Saturday at TD Place. "Instead of being first-and-10 and close to midfield, all of a sudden we're pushed back to put ourselves in first and long or second and long.
