OTTAWA - For the RedBlacks, it was like Christmas morning in June.

And Kevin Scott couldn't wait to get to the tree.

Growing up in Ottawa, the now 30-year-old long snapper didn't see much of the Rough Riders, but he does fondly remember sitting in the northside stands at Frank Clair Stadium with his parents for Renegades games.

"The biggest thing for me was watching the players as they were coming out of the locker room, warming up, just getting ready before the game," said Scott, a former Kanata Knight. "To me, it was an unbelievable feeling."

It was with that memory in mind that Scott made sure he was the first player out on the new field, at the still-under-construction TD Place Friday afternoon, for the RedBlacks very first practice at their new home.
