OTTAWA - Defensive back Reggie Jones had just successfully defended on receiver Kierrie Johnson -- possibly with a bit of pass interference involved.

Then the gum flapping began. Johnson was talking smack, letting Johnson know who was boss.

Johnson lobbed back some smack of his own. It was on -- no fists, just a lot of jawing, a war of words.

Turns out the defensive backs had a bet with the receivers. So there was plenty of intensity, plenty of talking and plenty of cheering at training camp on Tuesday.

"We had a little bet," said Johnson.

"The loser had to do 100 pushups, I think the coaches have to take each other out to dinner -- to one of the steakhouses in the city."

The defensive backs won the bet on the last play.

"It doesn't happen every day, but we have guys exchanging -- a physical and verbal battle," said Johnson.
