OTTAWA - On a day that makes greeting cards a vault full of money, Alex Krausnick will wake up with a warm heart.

Father's Day. Until now, it's a day that's never been that significant or special for the Ottawa RedBlacks centre.

"I've never met my father," said the 25-year-old Krausnick, whose mother Charlynn married another woman, Barb, when Alex and his twin brother Jon were four. So there was no mom and dad -- it was mom and mom. "Father's Day never really held much importance for me. My closest father figure was my grandfather."

On Mother's Day, the twins would make cards, make breakfast, sometimes give the moms, who split up a couple of years ago, a present. But on Father's Day -- nothing.
