Moton Hopkins' kindness, his demeanour, his respect for others and his glass-half-full outlook on life should never be mistaken for weaknesses.

A 27-year-old 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman whose job is to slam opposing players to the turf, Hopkins is much more than a hired gun. He's an all-star in the game of life and he's hoping to prove he belongs among the elite on the football field, a chance he'll get with the Ottawa RedBlacks, who called out his name as the first selection in the CFL expansion draft in December.

"I think I have two different personalities," says Hopkins. “I get teased because I pick guys up after I tackle them. They say I'm too nice.
