Maybe it was when the top college football receiver at one time, signed a contract worth more than $3 million after his name was called by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
Maybe it was the injuries, maybe it was the team's depth at receiver, maybe it was a bit of everything. But he didn't live up to the team's expectations -- or his own -- and was released in 2011. He agreed to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Then he left. Again, his football career was on hold.
