The Ottawa RedBlacks have found their man.

And it leaves a big hole in the Calgary Stampeders coaching staff.

As first reported by Sportsnet's Arash Madani on Thursday morning, the RedBlacks will name Stamps defensive co-ordinator Rick Campbell as their first head coach in franchise history.

The announcement is expected to be made Friday.

The Stampeders weren't commenting on the situation Thursday, but sources confirmed Campbell will, in fact, head east to take the reins of the fledgling franchise.

Campbell will get right to work, as the CFL Expansion Draft is slated for Monday, Dec. 16, and a league-issued trade freeze will go into effect Dec. 9.

Campbell's defence led the league in sacks in 2013 and gave up just 413 points, good for second-best in the CFL.

The 42-year-old has 15 years of CFL coaching experience, in addition to coaching secondary and special teams with the Oregon Ducks from 1996-98.
