OTTAWA - When they hosted a couple of free-agent camps in the southern U.S. on the weekend, the Ottawa RedBlacks were hoping to find a diamond in the rough, a guy who can come up and make an impact in the CFL.

S.J. Green springs to mind. The Alouettes all-star receiver was discovered at a free-agent camp in 2007. That's the kind of lightning in a bottle the RedBlacks were looking for at tryout camps in Fort Worth on Saturday and Orlando on Sunday. Having the camps in October gave them a jump on other CFL teams, who traditionally don't have any tryouts until early in the new year.
