OTTAWA - At first glance, a couple of small changes to the CFL draft rules shouldn't make much of a difference.

But the Ottawa RedBlacks could still get dinged — at least a bit.

The CFL announced Friday "redshirt junior" NCAA players will no longer be eligible for its draft. CFL teams will not be allowed to pick Canadians playing in the NCAA until they've finished their senior year.

"It's a good thing for the league," said RedBlacks GM Marcel Desjardins. "It eliminates uncertainty, where you might draft a player and he goes back and plays college ball and gets hurt."
