The wait is finally over for Ottawa football fans. Let's take a trip down the long road from the death of the Renegades to the birth of the RedBlacks:

April 9, 2006: CFL suspends operations of the Ottawa Renegades after majority owner Bernie Glieberman made it clear he wanted to dump the franchise. The league talks of a possible rebirth under new ownership in 2007, but that turns out to be a fantasy. "It's really, really sad. Sad to see it happen," said Renegades boss Lonie Glieberman. "It's dramatically bad news. It was my management that caused this. I'm responsible for people losing their jobs and I'm responsible for the city of Ottawa losing its football team."
