OTTAWA - Lansdowne Park looks barren, the southside stands long gone, the goalposts removed and snow stubbornly still covering what was a playing field.

Sixteen months or so from now, fans will once again be walking briskly over the bridge, streaming into Lansdowne Park.

Long, long ago, before the Senators were brought out of deep freeze, football was king in Ottawa.
