Ottawa CFL team to name GM on Wednesday
By TIM BAINES, QMI Agency

Marcel Desjardins. (Montreal Alouettes)

OTTAWA - It's expected the guy who will shape Ottawa's CFL team long before it hits the field in 2014 will be introduced Wednesday afternoon.

Marcel Desjardins is the guy chosen by Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group from a shortlist that also included former Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa Gee-Gees coach Marcel Bellefeuille, former Ticats assistant GM Joe Womack and ... drum roll, please ... the mystery candidate, Mike Murphy (son of legendary CFL coach Cal Murphy), an NFL scout with the Miami Dolphins and former position coach with the Ottawa Rough Riders.

While Desjardins' contract hasn't been signed, it's expected to be a formality.
