The three groups pursuing a CFL franchise for Ottawa will have to wait a little longer before taking the next step in the process.

Their first formal face-to-face meeting with the league's new franchise committee -- originally scheduled for tomorrow in Toronto -- has been postponed until next week because of scheduling problems.

Trying to secure a franchise for the nation's capital are three groups: A Toronto-based financial services company named Golden Gate Capital Corp. that includes 67's owner Jeff Hunt; a consortium of American businessmen led by former CFLer Bill Palmer; and Canadian food and beverage entrepreneur Frank D'Angelo.

While there's still a chance a team could be back in Ottawa for the 2007 season, a 2008 start up is considered more likely.
