Lonie Glieberman might take the next Renegades' training camp across the U.S. border.

The Renegades president said yesterday that the campus of Michigan Tech University, located in the northern portion of the state, is being considered among other sites for the team's 2006 camp.

"We're looking at four or five sites," said Glieberman. "We'll get all the bids and evaluate each one."

The Renegades have held camp at Kemptville College every year since the team entered the league four years ago.

The site at Kemptville is being considered again, but Glieberman also has met with officials at the University of Ottawa about holding camp there.

The Renegades could also hold camp in Gatineau or Kingston.

Michigan Tech's campus is located in Keweenaw County, in the same area where Glieberman and his father, Bernie, operate their ski resorts.

"We talked to them a while back," said Glieberman. "Michigan Tech is very interested in expanding its student base and wants to increase its exposure in Canada."

Glieberman admitted, however, that the Michigan site would not be ideal for Renegades fans, compared to holding it at locations closer to Ottawa.

"We're looking at a number of factors before we make any decision," he said. "Economics, quality of the fields, amenities, ease of travel."
