Yo a no-go vs. Stampeders

The Renegades won't have veteran receiver Yo Murphy when they face the Calgary Stampeders tomorrow night.

A quadriceps strain will keep Murphy out of the lineup. Renegades coach and GM Joe Paopao said Murphy's snaps will be handled by Darryl Ray and Marcus Howell.

RB Ka 'Ron Coleman will take Murphy's spot on the roster.

LB Cam Yeow and FB Gilles Lezi will also miss the game with ankle injuries and will be replaced on the roster by DL Adrian Baird, a University of Ottawa product who comes off the practice roster for the first time this season, and LB Martin Gagnon, who will dress for his fifth game of 2005.

WAY OFFSIDE: You want to know how dumb that offside was on a field-goal attempt by the Blue Bombers on Friday night? To recap, the Bombers were facing a third and three at the Ottawa 29-yard line late in the second quarter. The Renegades coaches sent lineman Cam Legault into the game to remind the players not to go offside, since that would give the Bombers a first down. So what happens? Not one, not two, but three Renegades jump offside. Two get back and Greg Moss gets flagged. The Bombers take the points off the board and on the next play, the Bombers score a touchdown, gaining four points with the convert. Ouch.

SCHOOL'S IN SESSION: The Renegades will offer area university and college students the chance to attend the final three homes games for $25. The one-day sale will take place Oct. 5 in the University of Ottawa and Carleton University residence commons area and at the cafeteria at Algonquin College from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. A valid student ID is necessary to take advantage of the promotion.

$15G RAISED FOR KATRINA VICTIMS: Renegades fans raised $15,545 for Katrina victims by buying up the beads left over from the Mardi Gras promotion at the last two home games.
