Ray Jacobs will rejoin the Renegades today.
The veteran defensive end, who was suspended by coach Joe Paopao last week for unspecified "actions detrimental to the team," will resume practising with his teammates this afternoon, but a final decision on whether he'll play Friday night in Winnipeg has not been made.
"Right now, I don't have him scheduled to play, no," said Paopao, who added he had several conversations with Jacobs before re-opening the door for him.
"He had to do some things ... he satisfied our demands. I talked to the captains, the coaches, everyone concerned in this building before the decision was reached."
INCIDENTS IN PAST
Jacobs' 98-game, four-team CFL career has been checkered by booze and drug-related incidents.
Paopao said he had no guarantee Jacobs would abide by team rules this time.
"Every situation is unique," he said. "You judge it on its merit. This is the direction we're going."
QUICK SLANTS: Paopao said kicker Matt Kellett "doesn't look good" for Friday's game. If his troublesome groin prevents him from playing again, the Renegades will turn back to Orleans native Mark Irvin, who's currently on the practice roster ... Watching practice from the sidelines with Greg Moss was DT Jerome Haywood (back), but he is expected back on the field today too ... WR Frank Cutolo (leg) did participate in the workouts, but Paopao said he did not look 100%, which means as of now the coach will be leaning toward giving him another week of rest.
