The Renegades now have Jason Armstead's name on the dotted line.

Coach/GM Joe Paopao is in possession of a signed contract with the outstanding return specialist/receiver, who had previously made a verbal commitment to return for a second year. Armstead's deal is for two seasons, with a club option for a third.

The 25-year-old speedster is the third receiver to re-sign with the Renegades since Paopao was rehired last month.

Also signed are imports Yo Murphy, Curtis Jackson and Sean Bennett, as well as non-imports Pat Woodcock, David Azzi and Darryl Ray.

The 'Gades are determined to add a big, experienced receiver from the free-agent list, with possibilities including Edmonton's Ed Hervey and B.C.'s Carl Brazzell.

Armstead, who saw only spot duty on offence early in his rookie season, wound up third on the team in receiving, behind Murphy and running back Josh Ranek, with 41 catches for 608 yards and four TDs.
