TORONTO - The clear-cut top choice in this year’s CFL draft is destined to end up in the NFL.

Since McGill tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is expected to be drafted by an NFL squad, it means one of Pierre Lavertu, David Foucault and Matthias Goossen — all offensive linemen — is the likely candidate to be taken first overall by the Ottawa RedBlacks on May 13.

It also means this weekend will be huge for the three of them if their goal is to go first overall and grab the tidy little signing bonus that goes with it. The CFL combine officially started Friday with medical testing and interviews, continues on Saturday morning at the Park Hyatt Toronto with physical testing, and concludes on Sunday with on-field drills and one-on-one competition under the bubble at Varsity Stadium.
