The start of the CFL season usually produces some eyebrow-raising results as teams try to get into their grooves.

Upsets are more likely to happen in July than October, but the grand opening over the Canada Day weekend produced plenty of expected results.

The Riders, Stampeders, Alouettes and Argos are still pretty good. The Lions lost but should be OK. The Eskimos, Bombers and Tiger-Cats found ways to lose, just as they did last year.

So not much new there.

But what about the players who moved to new teams in the off-season? Who helped? Who was an anchor around their necks?

Here’s a quick glance at how some of the old faces fared in new places in Week 1 of the CFL season:

* Geoff Tisdale, Cornerback, Montreal

The 28-year-old bounced around the CFL for the past few years, but he had a great debut for the Alouettes.
