Dylan Steenbergen insists the Calgary Dinos quarterbacks need not worry.

It's true, the burly offensive lineman will be waiting for his cellphone to ring during Dinos spring camp workouts tomorrow at McMahon Stadium, but he promises to stand his ground, even though the voice on the other end could be his future Canadian Football League employer.

"The quarterback will definitely not have to worry, I'll finish the block first," Steenbergen said. "The quarterback is always No. 1."

Steenbergen's knack for keeping his signal-caller clean is the main reason the 21-year-old is pegged among the top prospects for tomorrow's CFL Draft.

In the final pre-draft rankings released Tuesday, Steenbergen was listed as the fifth-best pro prospect suiting up in a Canadian university program. There's a possibility his name could be called in the opening round, even though he won't be tuning in to see it.

"I would love to be able to watch the draft on television, but at the same time, I've committed to this team for four years and I'm still a part of the Dinos and this is my first commitment," Steenbergen said.

"I'm sure I'm going to hear about it as soon as it happens anyway."

He likely won't be the only recipient of good news tomorrow.

Steenbergen, defensive lineman Deji Oduwole and safety James Green are considered good bets to be plucked in the draft, while Dinos linebacker Andrea Bonaventura and defensive back Matt Grohn are also on the radar.

Losing any of their key contributors would be a massive blow to the defending Canada West champions, but Dinos head coach Blake Nill is trying to focus on the positives.

"If you're going to lose them, it might as well be (to the pro ranks)," he said.

While the prospect of earning a paycheque on the gridiron is exciting, Oduwole wouldn't mind returning for another season at U of C.

"There is going to be a little uncertainty," he said. "But I believe, if we all stay, I believe this is the Vanier Cup team."
