The five strangest scheduling quirks in the CFL this season ...

5. Calgary has the final week off. If they finish first in the West, they'll have 21 days off before the Western final.

4. The Riders played three of their first four regular-season games against the B.C. Lions.

3. Counting the pre-season, Montreal has played seven games this year - but has faced only two teams.

2. Thanks to bye weeks sandwiched around one game, the Lions only play once in 29 days later this summer.

1. The Esks have 16 days off between games - Aug. 19-Sept. 3 - but then have to play two tilts in five days against Calgary.

DUD OF THE WEEK

Although fans are calling for Eskimo head coach Danny Maciocia, right, to be fired for blitzing safety Jonte Buhl when Milt Stegall scored the game-winning 100-yard TD last Thursday, the blame should fall on cover guys Keyuo Craver and Malcolm Frank.
