Instant replay continues to be a hot topic after some questionable calls last week.

But George Black - the CFL's director of officiating - still believes in the new tool.

"I think it's going pretty well," he said. "We're learning every week, but that's going to happen."

Up to and including Week 4, there have been 12 reviewed replay challenges, with six being overturned.

Grilled yesterday on replay and officiating issues, here's Black's interesting takes:

On the fact CBC broadcaster Sean Millington questioned the professionalism and bias of an officiating crew, suggesting officials ruled Kerry Watkins didn't make a TD catch because of anger toward Montreal coach Don Matthews: "If I found unprofessionalism ... I'd fire (officials) on the spot."

On the fact a team challenged a call with 2:59 left in a game last weekend, when the rule states only officials can call a challenge inside three minutes: "The play started prior to the three-minute warning."
