- The Province reports that LT Jamal Powell lost 55 pounds before his junior year at Texas Christian University, which hurt his NFL chances. It turned out he had autoimmune hepatitis.

CALGARY STAMPEDERS

- LT Godfrey Ellis, a 2005 draft pick who replaced injured LT Alexandre Gauthier, got hurt himself against the Bombers. His sprained ankle, however, isn't expected to keep him out.

EDMONTON ESKIMOS

- K Sean Fleming had made 14 straight field goals dating back to last September, before missing 50- and 46-yarders last Friday versus the Alouettes.

HAMILTON TIGER-CATS

- Hamilton Spectator columnist Scott Radley poked fun at former U of M kicker Jamie Boreham: "One of his kickoffs actually went backwards (last) Saturday night. ... he's now qualified to join the offence."

MONTREAL ALOUETTES

- KR Ezra (Itty Bitty) Landry's 125-yard field goal return for a touchdown Friday against the Eskimos was the longest play in Alouettes history and the fourth-longest in CFL history.

- The Ottawa Citizen says former minority owner Kevin Kimsa says if the league is paying money to avoid a salary cap lawsuit, he should get a piece of the pie as an original owner.

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

- Already without WR Matt Dominguez, RB Kenton Keith and DB LaDouphyous McCalla, the 'Riders lost WR Karsten Bailey, OL Jeremy O'Day and DT Nate Davis to injury during Saturday's loss to the Argos.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS

- Members of the defence fine themselves $5 for each error. According to the National Post, LB Michael Fletcher had to fork over $35 last week.
