The Montreal Alouettes placed quarterback Anthony Calvillo on the nine-game injured list Wednesday.

The star quarterback is out for the rest of the season, a source tells QMI Agency, but could be back for the playoffs.

The 41-year-old pivot is dealing with symptoms from a concussion suffered on Aug. 17 in a 24-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Montreal (4-5) still has nine games remaining on their schedule. In the absence of Calvillo, general manager and head coach Jim Popp has called on Tanner Marsh to lead the team.

The Als won their last two games without Calvillo, a 39-38 triumph against the B.C. Lions on Aug. 22 and a 20-9 win against the Toronto Argonauts on Tuesday.
