The Montreal Alouettes set the record straight on Monday -- Tim Tebow isn't coming north.

"We haven't spoken to (Tim) Tebow or his representative," Als general manager and head coach Jim Popp told reporters.

Tebow, who was released Saturday by the New England Patriots, is on Montreal's negotiation list. But as Popp explained, the Alouettes aren't exactly chomping at the bit to bring in the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner.

"A team would have to change its entire system for Tim," Popp said.

Through three exhibition games with the Pats, Tebow threw for just 145 yards to go along with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.

The 26-year-old was selected 25th overall during the 2010 draft by the Denver Broncos, where he led his team to a playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 AFC Wild Card game.

Ahead of last season, the Broncos sent Tebow to the New York Jets, where he remained for a season before being signed by the New England Patriots this past off-season.
