Calvillo could miss game against Stampeders
By QMI Agency
Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo might not be available to play Thursday against the Calgary Stampeders because of a shoulder injury.
"Anthony has a bruised shoulder. He woke up this morning and it was sore," Als coach Marc Trestman said after Calvillo missed Monday's practice. "He went to have some tests done today and we should know more soon."
Calvillo, who turns 40 Aug. 23, was hurt while sliding in the second quarter Friday night against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He returned to the game, however, and threw for 443 yards and three touchdowns.
If Calvillo is unable to play against the Stamps, Adrian McPherson would start at quarterback.
"Adrian took the reps as the starter at practice (Monday) and he did really well," Trestman said.
The Als will update Calvillo's status Tuesday after practice.
