Veteran import defensive end Anwar Stewart and non-import receiver Danny Desriveaux were released Wednesday by the Montreal Alouettes.

"I would like to thank both players for their contributions both on the field and in the Montreal community," Alouettes owner Bob Wetenhall said. "Anwar has been a leader on this team throughout his career and he will always be a member of the Alouettes family. We wish him continued success."

Stewart, 35, spent 10 years with the Alouettes. Desriveaux, 30, was with the team for five seasons.
