Itty Bitty, Philion ready

KIRK PENTON -- Winnipeg Sun

Ezra (Itty Bitty) Landry has played against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers twice in his CFL career.

The pint-sized Montreal Alouettes kick returner has two touchdowns in those games, and he sees no reason why that trend shouldn't continue tonight at Canad Inns Stadium.

"I'm not gonna say it gets easier," the 5-foot-4, 160-pound spark plug said yesterday of his occupation. "I get more comfortable. The more comfortable you let me get, things get out of hand."

Landry, who already has taken two to the house this season, returned a Troy Westwood missed field goal 120 yards in Winnipeg last August.

He then returned a punt 89 yards for a score during the rematch in Montreal in September.

NEW DAD: Alouettes QB Anthony Calvillo hasn't had much sleep this week. His wife, Alexia, gave birth to their first child, a daughter, on Tuesday.

"It's been a lot of hospital food and a lot of junk food, but it was a great day the other day when the baby finally came," Calvillo said. "... It's been a very long week, but it was well worth the wait."

FAMILIAR FACE: Montreal DT Ed Philion is looking forward to facing old teammate Aaron Fiacconi, who was traded to Winnipeg for Dave Mudge 12 days ago.

"I've owned him in practice," Philion said. "If you ask him, he'll tell you I've owned him. And I'm gonna continue to own him (tonight)."

LOTTO FEVER: Blue and Gold fans will have a chance to win big with the Blue Bombers 75th Anniversary Lottery.

Tickets, which cost $100 for three or $50 for one, go on sale today. The grand prize is a Lund 75th anniversary edition boat, motor and trailer.

Second prize is a Lone Star 2005 883 Sportster Harley Davidson bike package, third prize is a Krevco Pool and Spa hot tub package, and fourth prize is an Advance home entertainment system.

There will be early-bird draws for Super Fan Packages, and anyone purchasing a ticket before Sept. 10 will be entered in a draw to win a trip to this year's Grey Cup in Vancouver.

LATE HITS: Montreal has made four changes for tonight's tilt. In are LB Michael Botterill, OL Paul Lambert, LB Kevin Johnson and OL Dave Mudge. Out are SB Shaun Diner, OL Paul Archer, and DT John Turntine ... Als director of media relations Louis-Philippe Dorais was handing out free copies of Don Matthews' CD yesterday ... As of 5 p.m. yesterday, only 22,128 tickets had been sold for tonight's game.
