Chris Jones would love to lay another perfect 10 on Zach Collaros.

But Jones, the head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos, wasn’t sure it will possible for his defence to get to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback for 10 sacks on Friday night.

That’s the number of times Collaros was collared on Sunday in Hamilton’s season-opening loss in Saskatchewan, a mark just three shy of the Canadian Football League record for one game.

“That was a one-time deal, I’m sure,” Jones told reporters on Thursday.

“Some of it could have been misreads, some of it could have been receivers running the wrong routes. There are a lot of reasons why the quarterback ends up on the ground.”

Jones, of course, has some recent history with Collaros, and you would think that will serve as an advantage when the teams meet at Commonwealth Stadium.
