Long-time Hamilton Tiger-Cats centre Marwan Hage was lost in the expansion draft, retired (but didn’t register the retirement with the league) and then had his rights traded elsewhere.

Guard Peter Dyakowski is making far more headlines for his Jeopardy! debut than anything he’s doing on the field these days mostly because it’s going to be another 31/2 or four months before he’ll even be in pads again.

Dyakowski is on the nine-game injured list after suffering a serious knee injury in last year’s Grey Cup game.

Combined the two veterans accounted for 33 starts on the Ticats offensive line a year ago. At best, assuming Hage doesn’t make some miracle return to Hamilton and Dyakowski returns after a nine-game absence, the Cats will get nine starts from those two men this year total.

For most other teams that would be cause for concern.
