Interesting what a few more years on the gridiron can do for a player’s outlook.

When the Canadian Football League last saw Justin Medlock, he was kicking his way into the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ record book in 2011, completing 89.1% of his field-goal attempts (49 of 55), a mark that stands as the best in team history.

Three years later, Medlock, now 30, has returned to the Hammer following stints in the National Football League with the Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders that he was unable to turn into long-term employment.

Medlock is the same player who has always strived for perfection, but he is going about it in a different way.

“I feel a lot more comfortable in training camp,” Medlock said on Thursday before heading to Waterloo to watch his wife Hannah Jun Medlock compete in the LPGA’s Manulife Financial Classic.
