HAMILTON - Enough already.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have had their fill of Ricky Ray and they’re still a day away from facing the Argonauts’ star quarterback in the East Division final at the Rogers Centre.
“We don’t want to hear anything more about Ricky Ray,” Ticats linebacker Jamall Johnson said on Friday.
“Talk about us. We’re here. We don’t want to hear anything about those guys.
“We’re all professionals. We put our pants on just like they do. Ricky Ray is who he is. We respect him, but we have heard enough about him and we’ve seen enough of him. It’s about us and our defence and our team.”
Johnson has a point there, at least from the Ticats’ perspective. The defence survived some rough patches early in the season and has jelled when crunch time arrived, getting past some late-season challenges and then buckling down in this past week’s overtime victory over the Montreal Alouettes in the semifinal.
