HAMILTON - Marwan Hage and Peter Dyakowski spend more time together and know each other better then some married people.

“He’s the ying to my yang,” said Hage, chuckling.

The two are preparing for their seventh season together in the roughhouse that is the interior offensive line. Hage is beginning his 10th season in the black and gold of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

It has been a decade of unfulfilled promise during which he has seen six head coaches — from Greg Marshall, through Charlie Taaffe, to Kent Austin — and not a single winning season since the 9-8-1 mark of his rookie season. Still, as a chilly, springtime wind greeted the 2013 edition of the Tiger-Cats at the Ron Joyce training camp facility, optimism runs rampant.

“I’m like a boxer,” says Hage. “I never go into the ring thinking I’m going to get beat. Some years it hasn’t turned out the way we wanted, but, hey, that’s life.
