C.J. Gable doesn’t have to look far these days to see where he wants to go.

As the Hamilton Ticats wrapped up Day 2 of training camp Monday, Gable, and incumbent running back, Chevon Walker, lay side-by-side on the turf stretching limbs, chatting, laughing.

If this were a duel to the death for the No. 1 running back job, they were hiding it well.

“He pushes me; I push him. It’s about getting better. We’re both from big (college) programs and ... we can communicate. There’s nothing like having two monsters in the backfield,” said Walker, laughing. “He has what it takes to be that (other) guy.”
