TORONTO - Martell Mallett showed up Wednesday at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats mini-camp with two good legs to stand on.

Which is at least one more to stand on than Chris Williams probably has in a contract dispute, that now includes a boycott of this three-day howdy-do session.

While new head coach Kent Austin declined to get into a discussion about whether Williams ever will return, he did acknowledge he’d like to have seen his star receiver attend the off-season workouts.

They included 50 players — many of them newcomers, including former Buffalo quarterback Brian Brohm, who was signed just hours earlier.

Brohm will provide veteran backup for Henry Burris, even though his only CFL experience consists of watching some games on TV the past two years while playing in the United Football League.
