Tiger-Cats’ all-star kick returner and receiver, Chris Williams, has said he will not return to play in Hamilton.

Williams told a former college teammate at New Mexico State, via Twitter, that he and the CFL club are at odds and that he is “not going back”.

The reason he is not going back, remains a mystery, and a source of speculation. Neither the club, nor Williams’ Vancouver-based agent Dan Vertlieb, offered much in the way of explanations.

But if Williams, who is not a free agent, decides to go AWOL it would be the first blip on the radar screen for the new management regime headed by first-year general manager and head coach, Kent Austin.

That all was not sweetness and light between the club and Williams, who was named the CFL’s special teams player of the year, became public via the social media.
