Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive back Dee Webb has been fined an undisclosed amount for an illegal hit Friday on British Columbia Lions wide receiver Marco Iannuzzi, the CFL announced Wednesday.

Webb was penalized for unnecessary roughness after a helmet-to-helmet hit on Iannuzzi. The receiver left the game with a suspected concussion.

The fine was assessed following a hearing with commissioner Mark Cohon.

LION FINED FOR TWEET

B.C. Lions defensive end Khalif Mitchell was fined Wednesday "for unacceptable comments made on Twitter that are in violation of the league's social media policy."

The CFL did not disclose the amount of the fine.

Mitchell made a racial slur in posting a message during the U.S. presidential debate Tuesday.
