HAMILTON - Whatever reception awaits Andy Fantuz, he’ll at least be making his return to Regina on a high note.

For the second straight week, Fantuz caught a touchdown pass.

And in each game, the Ticats have emerged with a win, the latest being produced Saturday night as Hamilton built a 32-10 halftime lead to beat the visiting Als 39-24.

Fantuz would produce his first 100-yard game in Black and Gold, hauling in eight passes for a game-high 135 yards.

His fourth-quarter touchdown where Fantuz hooked up with Henry Burris on a 26-yard play basically sealed the deal for the Ticats, who lost their home opener to Saskatchewan three weeks ago.

“It’s going to be a good one, it’s going to be interesting,’’ said Fantuz of next Saturday night’s visit to Regina, where Burris once played only to return amid a lot of hype.

In Fantuz’s case, Rider Nation threatens to accord the star slotback with a rude welcome.

“Henry’s had a good reception and I’ll be interesting to what mine will be,’’ said Fantuz. “It’ll be fun to see all the boys, but we’re going for business.”

Offensively, the Ticats, who were held to three second-half points by the Riders, are on a tear.

Burris completed 27 of 30 passes for 360 yards against the Als, tossing four touchdowns and zero picks.
