Ticats give Porter extension
By Sports Network

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed backup quarterback Quinton Porter to a contract extension through the 2012 season.

The 6-foot-5, 228-pounder completed 10-of-21 passes for 148 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions last season.

Over three seasons with the Ticats, Porter has thrown for 3,408 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Boston College product has also ran for 696 yards and six scores.

"Signing Quinton to this extension stabilizes our quarterback situation," said general manager Bob O'Billovich. "During his time in Hamilton, he has shown that he's able to produce when called upon."
