Bruce has the last laugh

HAMILTON -- Arland Bruce torched his former team last night, and that was after he burned it for 115 yards.

"Awesome, man," Bruce said following the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' 34-15 win against the Argonauts.

"The Toronto Argonauts made the worst decision in football history by letting me go. Karma is a (expletive deleted)."

Wouldn't it be nice if Bruce really said what was on his mind?

The 31-year-old didn't get into the end zone, so the crowd of 30,293 was left wondering how he would have celebrated had he scored.

But Bruce didn't need to score to shove it down the Argos' collective throat: The flashy receiver led all players in receiving yards, and two of his receptions led to Ticats touchdowns.

After a 44-yard catch by Bruce in the second quarter, DeAndra' Cobb had a 23-yard reception for a major. Then in the third quarter, Bruce made a 43-yard snare and a few plays later third-string quarterback Adam Tafralis plunged in from one yard.

Bruce was traded to the Ticats in July after a feud with Argos head coach Bart Andrus went public. Though Andrus had to stand his ground after Bruce called him out publicly, there's no doubt the Argos are hurting without him.

The Ticats, meanwhile, love the guy.

That's four games in a row Bruce has led the Ticats in receiving.

The Argos don't have anyone who is comparable.

And on Friday night, Bruce, who had a clean-shaven head after wearing cornrows on Sunday, will be back at the Rogers Centre with his Ticats teammates for a rematch.

"It's going to be 9-11, call the police," Bruce said. "I'm just having fun, going to enjoy the win, but I'm looking forward to Friday."
