Ron Lancaster is fighting cancer again.

The CFL legend, who several years ago beat bladder cancer, has been diagnosed with lung cancer and has started chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

The 69-year-old Lancaster is the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' senior adviser to organizational development and also has been working on the Ticats' radio broadcasts.

"As much as I love the game of football, there are some things more important than what happens on the field of play," Lancaster said in a statement. "The goal is to get this taken care of and move forward just like I did five years ago."

Lancaster, a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, is fifth among coaches in CFL history with 142 wins and twice won the league's most outstanding player award as a quarterback with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
